Which kinds of care can I compare?
You can explore an in-person clinic or licensed telehealth care. Telehealth means the care exchange takes place over video, by phone or online.
Explain how tiredness affects your day. Ask whether the clinic or online service can discuss your symptoms and arrange an exam or tests if needed.
How do I check the prescriber?
The health professional allowed to write a prescription—a medicine order—is the prescriber.
As of September 2026, the prescriber needs a licence or other valid permission for the state where you are during a telehealth visit.
State medical boards make public records of doctors’ licence status and discipline available.
Get the prescriber’s full name, along with their licence details. Use the state board’s own search. Even when the public record is clear, it gives no rating of care quality.
What about the pharmacy?
The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, is the US medicine agency.
To help people check the pharmacy filling a prescription, the FDA provides links to state searches for pharmacy licences.
Ask for the exact name of the pharmacy that makes or sends the medicine, then check that name. Check the clinic or online service separately from the pharmacy filling the order.
What would a useful first reply include?
Ask it like this
- Who will see me at the visit, and where are they licensed?
- What happens if I need an in-person exam?
- Which pharmacy handles any prescription?
- After the visit, how do I get answers to questions?
- Can I see the full fees before I commit?
